Amidst the ongoing tussle around Nagaland foothill road, particularly in the Lotha lower range areas, the Lotha Lower Range Public Organisation (LLRPO) has affirmed to support the Lotha Hoho (LH) alignment presentation submitted to the chief engineer, Road & Bridges NPWD vide letter dated June 4, 2024.
LLRPO through its media cell informed that the matter was discussed its meeting held at Bhandari on May 13, 2025. The organisation stated that as per alignment presented by LH, the Nagaland foothill road would enter Wokha district through Tongtongo junction, proceed to governor camp at Liphanyan and then the road would pass through Koro New, Renthan yan, Ruchanyan, Longjung (Lio Wokha New), pass through Maraju (Merapani) along the foothills at Maraju village, then to Longayim, Mekirang, rice fields (of Alikhum), Zujum/Yimpang, Longtsiri, ONGC station at Champang B, Tssori Old to Tssori New and exit Wokha district through Mithehe. LLRPO said the presentation was approved in the year 2014.
In this regard, LLRPO, along with its apex body LH, urged the state government to take note of the “choice of the people’s road seriously” and not to deviate the road as “short cut or long cut or simple cut or deep cut”. LLRPO said the “safety lifeline road” of the concerned people should not be compromised.
Meanwhile, LLRPO has expressed deep dismay over some alleged “derogatory remarks tarnishing the name of the good office of LLRPO basing on political biases by some vested individuals and groups.”
The organisation also called upon individuals or groups under its jurisdiction to closely work along with LLRPO as it was the apex body of the people residing at the Lotha lower range.
