Various organizations carried out a yeoman service by contributing towards renovation and soiling of the PWD road from Tangkhao village to Yeangmai village.
In a press note, Village Councils of Tamkoang, Yeangmai, Eyeang, Yongkhao, and Shinnyu under Tobu Block, Mon district, extended heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to all individuals, organisations, and well-wishers who generously contributed— whether through services, financial assistance, or materials. The community-led roadwork was undertaken between March 3 and May 9, 2025.
During this period, over 350 truckloads of stones were used to fill and reinforce the road stretch covering more than 15 km. The initiative was undertaken with the aim of ensuring all-weather road connectivity, especially in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season.
The councils noted that the road had been long neglected by the concerned government authorities, posing significant challenges to transportation and daily life.
However, the collective and timely effort of the community has significantly alleviated the hardships caused by poor road conditions in the region.
The village councils reaffirmed the importance of such unity and voluntary cooperation in addressing developmental gaps and improving infrastructure in remote areas.
