NDPP Mkg conducts training & workshop on integrated farming and mushroom cultivation

The Agri & Allied Organization of the NDPP Mokokchung Region organized a one-day training and workshop on Integrated Farming and Mushroom Cultivation on May 15, at the NDPP Mokokchung region office. The event was attended by representatives from all 10 constituencies of the region.

The training aimed to empower participants with practical knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices, with a focus on integrated farming systems and the economic potential of mushroom cultivation.

Inspector at the District Agriculture Office (DAO), Mokokchung, Lanuchuba Imchen led the session on Integrated Farming, where he elaborated on the concept and structure of integrated farming systems, and emphasized the distinction between simple cultivation and holistic farming approaches. He encouraged the adoption of diversified farming models for improved productivity and sustainability.


The second session was conducted by Assistant Horticulture Officer, Mokokchung, Recha Imchen, who provided an in-depth presentation on Mushroom Cultivation, specifically focusing on oyster and shiitake mushrooms. She highlighted the high-return potential of mushroom farming when managed properly and promoted it as a viable avenue for self-sustainability.


Earlier in the program, the keynote address was delivered by president Agri & Allied Organization, Nungsang Ao and exhortation by president NDPP Mkg region, Mangyang Jamir. The vote of thanks was proposed by vice president Agri & Allied organization, C. Meren.
