The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) conducted a comprehensive Green Audit on May 15 at the Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) in Kohima.
In a press release by Principal, Dr. Kate Dandesh Kumar noted that a team comprised of Er. Aghali A. Swu (Senior Environmental Engineer), Er. Kevisede Pucho (Assistant Environmental Engineer), Mvudzeviu Shuya (Scientist ‘B’), Moakumzuk Jamir (Data Entry Operator), and other technical staff visited the college to assess its environmental practices and sustainability efforts.
The audit encompassed a thorough review of several key areas, including the institution’s green cover and nature conservation initiatives, waste management protocols, water management systems, energy management practices, and overall carbon footprint.
The findings of the Audit will be compiled and shared with the MITE, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing their environmental sustainability initiatives.
