Members of the Naga National Council (NNC) Ao Region gathered at Yimyu (Khensa) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the historic Naga Plebiscite on May 16, 2025.
According to NNC working president, Tsupong Longchar, the event, held at a site of deep political significance, recalled past debates between the Nagas and the Government of India on Indo-Naga issues.
The gathering honored the sacrifices made by those who fought for Naga freedom. As the community steps into the 76th year since the plebiscite, prayers were offered for divine guidance in the journey ahead. The commemoration concluded with a grand feast at Alichen (Longkhum), bringing together members in a spirit of unity and reflection.
