Thematic lyrics with rhythmic syncopated riffs played on distorted electric guitars, tuned to the pitches that could set the stage on fire; melodic metal outfit “Diatribe” is all ready to perform as they take the stage November 5 at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur.
Emerging in 2007 Common Era (CE), the melodic metal outfit, “Diatribe” style of music mainly emphasizes on attracting youth from various quarters of the society for a “Revolution.”
Through their music, audio-visual display and interactions with the crowd, the outfit hopes to convey the message that the youth have the power to change the future of the state. With fans following the band comprising of youth from various cross sections of the society, the band hopes that the message would reach beyond the “privileged elite.”
Inspired by bands ranging from “Children of Bodem”; “Lamb of God”; “Dream Theatre”; “Mudvayne”; “Symphony X”; “Pain Salvation” to “Death”, the band is all set to hit the big stage with a twist.
Diatribe’s music involves melodic metal fused with a pinch of folk rhythms, with sharp distorted guitar riffs, unique sound and strong impact lyrics.
The X factor of this would definitely draws mixed crowd of heavy rockers and the ones who follow pop style, not to miss out the huge female following!
Diatribe after performing at various platforms have emerged as one the remarkable bands in the recent times. The band emphasizes more on singing about dark social issues (socio-political problems). The band is also equipped to perform at Octave Fest, where they would be performing at Delhi and Patna supported by NEZCC.
Leave aside your chores, keep your kids with your neighbour and look out for the band “Diatribe” which would be performing LIVE at DDSC stadium Dimapur. Diatribe will be playing both OCs and covers. The opening acts of the gig would be performed by OFF (Original Fire Factor).
The gig is being organized by “League for Change”, an event management that was formed in response to the alarming apathy among many Naga Youth towards social issues that were crucially important to the quality, or even possibility, of the future.
A joint-venture between Salang Longchari, Tiameren Amri, Temsu Akong and Wabang Tzudir, “League 4 change” aspires to organize events that would be safe and provide creative spaces for the youth to engage with contemporary social issues and voice concerns that may be of importance to them.
Meanwhile, the organizers have informed that donors card, prized at Rs. 400 can permit entry to two people and not one, as printed on the card. It has also announced that a lucky draw, involving a guitar would be drawn at D-Day on Rs.400 entry card.
Band Profile:
Formed in September 2007, Diatribe is a five member melodic metal band dedicated to promote the cause of “Peace and Non-violence” through their music. Diatribe has performed at the rattle and Hum show in October 2007 and recently performed at the Concert for Peace in Dimapur. Lipok, Yanger, Abhija Temsu are all well known musicians in the state, having performed for various bands, the last of which was “Black Rose”, of which they were all part of.
Tiatemsu (Kalong), the lead vox, also had a brief stint with a well known band in Chennai called “Morrsion Avenue.”
United by Common aspiration, Diatribe hopes to mature as a band as they come to terms with the socio-political problems affiliating Nagaland and be a “voice” that speaks on behalf of the youth of this state.
Diatribe desires to play a pivotal role in calling Naga musicians to transcend dissimilarity in musical genre and personality and to use their art actively to advocate a social environment that creates hope and opportunity for the future of the youth.
