Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has demanded resignation of the speaker and chief minister in the aftermath of landmark Guwahati High Court judgment. KDCC has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and “lackadaisical and lethargic attitude” of state government and its agencies in tackling the spate of killing, extortion, abduction etc.
In its first meeting held on October 29 after its constitution, KDCC deliberated on the issues and problems concerning the state and passed certain resolution. A press release issued by KDCC president Prasielie Pienyü and general secretary (adms) Viseyienuo Keretsü stated the house expressed displeasure over total failure of the DAN – NPF government on road developments and managements particularly in the state capital “despite having huge amount of fund at their disposal”.
The house resolved to reaffirm its faith and confidence on the leadership of NPCC president K.V Pusa, CLP leader Chingwang Konyak and called upon people of the state to denounce the “apathetic attitude” of the state government.
Meanwhile, KDCC also condemned the atrocities meted on Christian community in Orissa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India.
