Relatives of a victim Monday apprehended one Lohe Mao (40), a science teacher in Don Bosco School, Chiephobozou under Kohima District for allegedly attempting to rape his Class IX student at the school premises on November 4 last.
Quoting family sources, a local vernacular reported that the accused, a father of two children had attempted to rape the student on November 4 at around 2:30 p.m to 3 p.m when she was going to fetch water below the school.
It said that the culprit forcefully took the victim to nearby school premises and held tight both her hands with one of his hand and started fondling her with the other hand. The student however escaped miraculously, it added.
After the student narrated the entire episode to her family, womenfolk of her relatives Monday morning apprehended the teacher and made him confess where he committed the crime. The accused was made to remain naked for about half an hour after his clothes were torn off and both hands tied.
Meanwhile, the victim’s families have urged all the right thinking citizens to condemn such “heinous crime” for the betterment of the society.
