Missing Tripura girl found residing in Dimapur

A seventeen year old girl who had eloped with a married man was detained after a team of police personnel from Tripura and Dimapur police found them residing at Dimapur on Wednesday evening.
Briefing media persons at East Police station, Circle Inspector (CI) of Dharmanagar (Tripura) K C Gosh, said that the girl, identified as Rooptara Begum (17), who was studying in class nine had eloped with one of her neighbor on November 4, 2009.
Eight days after the incident, the girl’s parent lodged a complaint against one person identified as Salimuddin (21) who was already married with three children when he and Rooptara had eloped.
Meanwhile, basing on specific inputs, a six member team of Tripura police personnel consisting of women personnel and armed policemen reached Dimapur on Wednesday evening and located the girl along with the accused residing at 5th Mile, Dimapur. Both of them were taken into custody with the help of Dimapur police.
Further, CI K C Gosh expressed his gratitude to Superintendent of Police Dimapur and OC, East PS for extending cooperation during the process of detaining the duo.
