Midland Youth Organization (MYO) has condemned the murder attempt on one of its bonafide members Thepfurhiu Metha on the night of November 1. The murder was allegedly committed by one Vevozo Hoshi, son of Hutazu Hoshi of old Phek village and two NSCN (IM) cadres near Daklane sector 3.
President of MYO Atou Liezietsu informed that the victim was dragged in the roads and “beaten mercilessly without reasons even after identifying himself”. His unconscious body was later thrown below the old GREF road in New Market area, some 1000 metres away from the spot where he was dragged, the release stated.
MYO has appealed to all Naga civil societies, churches, human rights activists and every right thinking citizen to condemn such atrocities inflicted upon innocent citizens and the law enforcing agencies to punish the culprits.
MYO thanked all youths for taking the victim to hospital at the right time. It cautioned the youths to be vigilant against such perpetrators.
