ENPUK new team
KOHIMA: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union Kohima (ENPUK) has elected its new team for the tenure of 2008-2011. The Union during its 7th general session on November 13 elected T. Kekongchim Yimchunger as President and Yanghose as general secretary besides eight other members.
NSUD felicitates
NSUD: Nokpu Students’ Union Dimapur(NSUD) and Assiringyim Nokpu-B students’ Union(ANSU) has felicitated Tinu L. Longchar, son of Lanu Longchar; Limatangit Walling, son of A. Tsuknung Walling and Imtisenla Walling, daughter of I. Lanu Walling on their selection to the post of SDO under PHED,SDO Works and Housing and Technical Officer ICAR respectively. The Unions further congratulated Imli Longkumer, son of Chuba Longkumer, Takusunep Walling, son of Imtichuba Walling and Wapangtoshi Longkumer, son of Rongsen Longkumer on their selection to AIEEE,NERIST and JEE examination and further wished them success in their future endeavors.
Mt.Tiyi coll parting social
DIMAPUR: Mt. Tiyi College, Wokha November 18 celebrated its 34th parting social cum prize distribution day with director of higher education, A.M Toshi as chief guest. Addressing the function, chief guest stressed on the importance of education and urged students to strive in their studies. Speech on behalf of outgoing students was delivered by Bineeta Alley and on behalf of residual students was delivered by Rentsamo Enzung. Meanwhile, Wokha Town Baptist Church pastor, Rev.L K Tsanglao invoked prayer upon outgoing students. Vote of thanks was conveyed by MTCSU general secretary, Meribeni Patton.
SBC Biennial session
DIMAPUR: Sümi Baptist Convention (SBC) will hold its 10th Biennial Session at SBAK, Nito mount, Zunheboto on November 22 and 23 with parliamentary secretary, industry and commerce Dr. K.C Nihoshe as chief guest. The speakers of the session would be executive secretary, SBAK Nito mount, Rev.Dr.Khehovi Shohe, principal TTC Rev .Dr.Kavito Zhimo and president ASBPF Honito. Ordination service will be held for deserving ministers on November 23, executive committee members of the convention have been requested to reach the venue for a meeting on November 21.
ANSTA informs
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has informed all teachers that the proposed general conference of ANSTA slated to be held in the month of November at Dimapur has been postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances”. Association general secretary has informed that rescheduled date would be notified after finalization and informed all subordinate units to submit and clear the conference- cum -membership fee.
VCC meet
DIMAPUR: Purana Bazar village council on behalf of organizing committee, including Diphupar VC and Padumpukhuri VC has requested all recognized Village Council Chairmen under Dimapur district to attend an urgent meeting November 19, 10 a.m. at tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
