A thanksgiving service of Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS) on attaining its 25 years of excellence was held Sunday.
The second day celebration of its silver jubilee attended by R. Ezung Retd IS (commissioner and secretary), medical superintendent Sukhato Sema, parents and alumni of the school including Principal Ajanthung Shitio and vice Principal Sentila Ao attended the thanksgiving programme.
Speaker of the occasion, Pekrusetuo Angami, general manager, Nagaland State Transport delivering the message of thanksgiving said students should not be entangled in bad companies and unwanted substances, as children of God they should proclaim the liberty and declare that had deviated from the bad influence.
Proprietor and administrator of the school P. Paira who said setting up a school was his ‘dream come true’, expressed happiness that he could manage the school by the grace of God. The programme was observed with praise and worship led by Orenthung and Penao.
Established in the year1983 with just 13 students and two teachers; LSHSS has now 32 teachers with enrollment of1100 students.
LSHSS is also the first school in Dimapur to start computer classes in the state. Besides producing 90-100% good result LSHSS has also produced three top positions in top twenty in HSLC examination. As a token of appreciation for rendering 21 years of her service to the school, the school management gifted 21,000 rupees to one of the older teacher Eve Fernandez, a tradition of the school where after every ten years teachers were gifted ten thousand rupees for their selfless services.
