Dimapur women police Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m. recovered a body of a non-local woman, locked inside her residence at Grace Colony. Police identified the victim as one Sultana Begum (21) and suspected it to be a case of strangulation as per preliminary examinations. Police found strangulated marks on the victim’s neck and bruises on the leg whose body was clothed in a night gown. Police also recovered a border-rope of mosquito net inside the house.
Suspected to have murdered Monday night, the body was discovered by a lady tenant who returned to the residence on Tuesday after spending the previous night at a relative’s place. Police suspected involvement of the victim’s husband (Ali Hussein) in the murder. Ali was reportedly found with his infant daughter today at 10 a.m. by neighbours.
