Adhoc Committee Wakching Town (ACWT) seeking the attention of the state government said most heads of the departments posted at Wakching headquarters and their staff remains out of station and as a result the area people have been suffering ‘inexplicably’.
Redressing grievances, Atal Konyak vice chairman, ACWT, in a release said out of 14 numbers of officers and staff of Wakching Veterinary office, only one office peon stays at station. Subsequently, a meeting of Adhoc Committee Wakching Town (ACWT) and elders was held on August 1 to discuss the issue and as per decision taken in the meet, all heads of the department were informed to stay in station and work in their respective offices with immediate effect.
However, the vice chairman said no departmental head paid heed to the information and even the function of Independence Day celebration was not attended by any heads of the department at Wakching.
In this regard, the committee has appealed the government and departmental controlling officers stationed at Naginimora, Mon town to immediately direct their officers to resume their duties latest by September 30, failing which the people of Wakching would take its own course of action to withhold the salary of those defaulting officers and staff, it said.
