Police manning the Phesama check post during routine frisking of vehicles on Tuesday seized approximately 80 kgs of ganja from eight women at around 8:50 a.m. Police said the eight accused were traveling in a bus – NL-01-B- 0567 originating from Khezhakeno and heading to Kohima. Each of the accused carried 10 kgs of the contraband and was going to Dimapur, police said. The accused have been identified as Athisa (26) daughter of James; Matia (18) daughter of Ashikho; Priscilla (19) daughter of Hrupuni; Komunhra (46) daughter of Hepuni; Matiya (40) daughter of Adakho; Ani (36) daughter of Daili; Dhonyi (31) daughter of James and Aphro (36) daughter Athili all belonging to Tobufu village under Senapati district. They have now been lodged at the South Police Station, Kohima.
