NSCN/GPRN bans picnics along Chathe River

Informing that it has taken serious account of recent rape and murder of minor girls along Chathe River, the NSCN/GPRN today said it has “banned” partying and organizing picnic along Chathe River after 6 p.m. According to NSCN/GPRN UT-1 secretary Chonbenthung Lotha, the decision arrived June 5 during the regional council meeting. NSCN/GPRN observed that Chathe River has become a “play ground for criminals and senseless people” endangering the safety of women’s life. It further advised all responsible to take the matter seriously, failing which, it said would invite severe action from the NSCN/GPRN.
