The second phase of Non-Local Verification Card Issuing drive under the initiative of Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) would commence from October 21 to 27 next covering the whole areas of Chakhesang.
According to CSU general secretary Esther Rhakho, the drive would cover up the following location against the cited dates – Phek Town- October 21 and 22, Pfutsero & Chizami Town – October 23 and 24 and Chetheba & Chozuba Town – October 26 and 27. In this regard, the CSU has informed all Non-Local residents of the areas to prepare 3 passport Photographs and Xerox copy of Inner Line Permit (ILP) card so as to avail the verification on the date at the given places. The place of the issuing the said card would be the same venues where the 1st phase took place.
Non-Locals who failed to register during the 1st phase have also been directed to register without fail. The CSU further stated that after the second drive, surprise checking would be launch so as to detect illegal immigrants residing within the Chakhesang jurisdiction. The detected illegal immigrants during the checking would be handed over to the district administration for the deportation of the same, adding that illegal immigrants who are posing ‘serious threat’ to the community would be seriously dealt with.
