Tenyimi Union, Jalukie November 15 celebrated its 33rd foundation day cum community hall inauguration at Jalukie with Tenyimi People Organisation (TPO) president, Z.M. Sekhose gracing the programme as chief guest.
Addressing the function, TPO president appealed all Tenyimi to live peacefully irrespective of tribe and religion, by stating “we are one by blood”, and further encouraged Tenyimi to protect and safeguard the fertile land and rich natural resources especially the Intangki reserve forest which “God has given to the Tenyimi.”
In this regard, he appealed to the government to protect and preserve it from any further destruction and occupation by “land mongers” else hand it over to the land owners – the Tenyimi”.
The programme was chaired by Hepuni Hraiwo Poumai while invocation was pronounced by TUBC pastor, Sazoto, Jalukie Krohol, Angami president delivered presidential address followed by exhortation from Rev. Dr. Father Godfred, Vilasal. Short speeches were also delivered by Zeliangrong Baudi, president, Akhang Kamei and former minister, Bangdi Iheilung.
Meanwhile, TUJ has expressed gratitude to TPO president for donating Rs. 10,000 towards the union, TPO president, Z.M. Sekhose, vice president Keku Zeliang and secretary, P. Sani Mao for attending the celebration.
