KMC for more markets in Kohima

A sales-day was organised Friday at Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Kezieke Market, by KMC & Kyong Eloe Hoho with Er. Dr. Vikuotuolie Angami, chief engineer PWD as the chief guest.
Alun Hangsing, administrator KMC highlighting on brief history of the market purposed vision of having more markets in an around the town. He said such markets are very essential, especially in easing traffics problems and also catering to the needs of footpath vendors, which is a common practice in the state capital and said that more of such sales day should be organized by different organizations. He said KMC has also taken up with the State Govt. for better facilities and infrastructures for market places.
Speaking at the short function, chief guest lauded both KMC and Kyong Eloe Hoho for coming up with innovative venture in organizing a sales-day and thereby giving more emphasis on local products and uplifting the economy of the rural people. On menace of solid waste management in Kohima, he appealed to the general public to dispose off waste in a proper manner for hygienic environment, and that urban local bodies should have a separate entity for funds for specific developmental works within its jurisdiction for roads, market sheds and other public amenities etc.
He further requested KMC authorities to plan out in having a modern way of disposing garbage for Kohima city. Earlier, a special cultural song was presented by Kyong Eloe Hoho (KEH) womenfolk and vote of thanks proposed by Thungchano Tsaglao, President KEH.
