A one day training and demonstration programme on management of litchi cultivation was organised by ATMA, Medziphema block in collaboration with Hiraku under NWDPRA project at New Chumukedima on 10.
The programme was chaired by Wochamo Patton, AO & BTT convener, Medziphema block, who also demonstrated on the scientific method of planting litchi. The resource person for the technical session was Merentola, SMS-ATMA who spoke expansively on planting, nutrient and pest management of litchi cultivation. Altogether, ten beneficiaries attended and benefited out of the training. Around 500 litchi saplings were also distributed to the farmers under the project.
