Intl Geography Congress at Kozhikode

The 3rd International Geography Congress hosted by centre for water resources development and management Kozhikode, Kerala was held from May 6-8 under the aegis of National Association of Geographers India with focal theme “Sustainable Natural Resources Management under Changing Climatic Scenarios”.
The Congress was graced by K. Sankaranarayanan, governor of Maharashtra in the presence of Prof. K.V. Jayakumar, executive director, CWRDM, Prof. Yukio Himiyama of Japan, Prof. Giuliano Bellezza of Italy, Prof. Udo Schickhoff of Germany, Prof. Brij Maharaj of South Africa and host of Geographers and Hydrologists.
Four Ph. D scholars including Soyhunlo Sebu, Brenda, Mejarenla and Tiakumla from geography department, Nagaland University presented papers in four technical session under various themes viz., agricultural production, productivity and food security, Impact of population explosion and urbanization on land use, and impact of anthropogenic activities and climatic changes on hydrological processes and biodiversity.
