Ex. president, DMCC Phek Zaposhelu Venu has clarified to the press statement quoting her name on the issue of resignation of Nagaland Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (NPMCC) office bearers and some DMCC Presidents that appeared in local dailies on October 20.
Venu said she had tendered her resignation on domestic ground on October 4, and that the letter was addressed to the President, NPMCC c/o President Phek DCC. She further said her resignation had nothing to do with the mass resignation of NPMCC office bearers and some DMCC Presidents whatsoever.
“Dragging my name into the present controversy was uncalled for and I dissociate myself from such political misadventure. I remain faithful to the Indian National Congress party principle and its constitution”, she added and further urged those responsible for the controversy not to drag her name unnecessarily in future.
