Five bands selected from Nagaland for Hornbill national rock contest

Five bands Eximious, EOE, OFF, all three from Kohima Melodrama and Dementia both from Dimapur have been selected to participate in the Hornbill National Rock contest.
The audition was held on Wednesday at state academy hall, Kohima for Nagaland bands to take part in Hornbill National Rock contest. The result was declared by G. Chishi, Project director, MTF.
A total of 16 bands from the state turned for the day long audition, which was conducted under the watchful eye of the three judges Dr. Wabang, Wenitso Kapfo and Toshilong.
It must be recalled here that two bands Diatribe and Dementia gained automatic slots for winning Nagaland Music Safari, Nagaland Music Safari, 2008.
However Diatribe had to pull out of the contest as the band had prior engagement to perform in Delhi and Patna in the first week of December for the NEZCC porgamme. The five selected bands from the state now joins the rest bands from outside in the rock contest starting December 1 till 7 at the Local Ground, Kohima.
The seven-day contest is organized by the state government’s Music Task Force (MTF), department of Youth Resources and Sports and the event is managed by XL.
