Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) intensively debated on the recent SRD examination controversy amongst many other resolutions during its sixth union assembly on November 9.
The members, in the assembly which was co- hosted by the Chozuba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (CTCSU) at Chozuba town, slammed the instability of the government in policy making, and recommended its tribal apex student body for active involvement in the Naga Students’ Federation for the common interest of the students community and appealed for justice to be delivered to every section of people.
On the state government’s delay in replying to the representation submitted by the four tribal student apex bodies, the house criticized the government for its “step-motherly treatment” and “ignorance to the weaker tribes”, stated a press statement issued by speaker, CSU Dapulu Lea and assembly secretary, Thupukutho Lohe .
While accusing and seeking clarification from the authority in-charge for randomly canceling the examination date at the eleventh hour, the house demanded that the propose SRD should stand still and the date of commencing of the examination should be declared at the earliest.
The house also strongly voiced their stance to take up any course of action for the cause of the student’s welfare.
Meanwhile, the assembly endorsed the matter to the executive council to intimate any course of agitation for the best interest of the students’ community in particular and the Chakhesang in general to which the house resolved to extend its fullest support in any further steps taken.
