Preparations on for NSF general conference

DIMAPUR: The 24th general conference of the Naga students’ Federation (NSF) is scheduled to be held from April 27 to 30 at Pfutsero town.
The conference is being hosted by the Chakhesang Students’ Union under the theme “reaching out”.
The inaugural function of the conference will be graced by former chief minister of Mizoram, Zoramthanga and Member of Parliament Assam, Biswajit Daimary as guest of honour.
Chief secretary of Nagaland Lalthara (IAS) will be the guest for the Musical Essemble, minister for road and bridges Nagaland G. Kaito Aye and Chairman North East Students’ Organisation, Dr, Samujjal Bhattacharejee will grace the Cultural Regal as guest and special guest respectively.
The valedictory function will be graced by minister for health and family welfare Kuzholuzo Neino as valedictory guest.
The resource person for the conference will be D K Zeliang (Rtd IFS) former PCCF Nagaland and Akum Longchari Managing Director the Morung Express as moderator.
The conference would witness the presence of renowned personality from within and outside the state with four thousand delegates expected to partake during the conference.
All federating units and subordinate bodies have been requested to reach the conference venue on April 27 by 2pm.
The members of the Organising Committee, sub committee and Naga students’ Federation Official have also been requested to attend the forth coming meeting on April 26, 3pm at Naga students’ Federation Office.
Meanwhile, Naga students’ Federation has been constrained to elucidate on the “unbecoming and excessive activities” of the Assam Rifles personnel, particularly in and around Pfutsero town.
The Naga students’ Federation stated the “unlawful frisking and raids” conducted by the AR has been causing “undue harassment and torture” to the civilians and hampering the preparatory works for the conference.
Viewing this as a “sinister design and motive” by the security personnel, the Naga students’ Federation piqued with the ongoing frisking and raids conducted by the AR has warned security personnel’s not to “provoke” the Naga people at the present juncture.
