Dimapur police Saturday arrested three local youth for stealing metal construction material weighing 200 kilograms from the state stadium construction site. The accused has been identified as Mhao Lotha (19) s/o Ponthongo Lotha of Lotsu village presently residing at Lotha colony along with two other teenage boys.
According to police, they were informed by residents of the area that some youths have been stealing building materials from the construction site. Following the information, the West police personnel early Saturday apprehended the three accused from the spot red-handed.
Police also said the three accused admitted to their crimes and that it was their second attempt. Later in the day, police said the two of the three youths who were minor boys were produced at juvenile court and subsequently sent to juvenile home.
In another incident, combined team of West police personnel and ‘B’ Company 12th IR apprehended one Kiyeka (25) s/o Kiyeve of Pheshami village, V.K. Area on February 7 while he was extorting money in Khermahal area. The police also recovered a country made .22 pistol along with two live ammunition from him.
