To commemorate the thrice great event-birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinibbana of Lord Buddha, the 2555th Buddha Jayanti festival was celebrated on May 17 at Dhamma Bodhi Vihar, under SDBM, kevija-u village, Dimapur.
Highlights of the programme were international brotherhood flag hoisting, Buddha Vandana, Panchseel and Maitri Bhabna, distribution of fruits amongst the indoor patients at Dimapur civil hospital by Ven. monk Bhaddhiya Bhikhu, ‘scot free’ the fishes at river (life’s gift) by the members and well wishers SDBM, Dimapur.
The cultural programme was organised with illumination of light in the premises of SDBM Dimapur.
The celebration sub-committee member Biraj Barua under SDBM Dimapur has expressed gratitude to veteran monks, participants and to all those who supported the team physically, materially and financially towards the grand success of the programme.
