MLA Dr. T.M. Lotha and members of Woka Village Council members, Chief Engineer PHED Er. Kevisekho Kruse PHED accompanied by senior technical officers of the department along with and land owners conducted a field visit to Engoruju water source/ water treatment plant area under wokha village jurisdiction on april 30.
The team during the visit, also held a co-ordination meeting with all stake holders at Wokha to prepare ground for implementation of the recently sanctioned water supply project under non-lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR)/DoNER for bringing drinking water to Wokha town.
The project sanctioned for an estimated amount of Rs 19.596 Crores is designed to deliver about 1 million litres per day during lean period once completed and commissioned.
Wokha village leaders have welcomed the project and assured all possible help to make the project a success.
The co-ordination meeting was attended by various stake holders, prominent amongst them being Dr. T. M. Lotha, former minister, Dr. Chumben Murry, former MLA, Mhao Lotha, retired Chief Engineer PHED Er. Mhondamo Ovung , SDO Civil, EAC, president and members of Lotha Hoho, Kyong Eloe Hoho, GBs of various wards/ Colonies of Wokha town, Church leaders and other prominent citizens of the town.
The meeting primarily focused on the urgent need for availability of safe drinking water and need of concerted efforts by everyone to make it a success so that the problem of water scarcity will be solved to a large extent.
The meeting also addressed several vital points, thus clearing the way for the department to move ahead.
