Dream Café, the gallery coffee shop at Ser’s bazaar, Midland Kohima, celebrated its 10 years of ewwxistence at the café Sunday with Reverend Jeanne Lee Faith leaders International ministries INC Singapore as the speaker.
Exhorting a host of young people, Rev. Lee said it was “God’s purpose for us to do good works and be fruitful in our lives.”
Expressing her happiness over the activities of Dream café, she said it should continue the same and do their best for the Lord.
She said “I am 70-year-old now and want to see Nagaland progress before I take rest in the Lord”. Encouraging the youth to work hard and pray, Rev. Lee said people without effort and dedication would never flourish and progress in life.
She said one should have good relationship with God to be guided by Him in the right direction in life.
Describing Naga people as “fascinating people” with lots of talents in music and other areas, Rev. Lee urged the young people to use their best for God’s glory.
On the objective of starting the café, she said Dream café began with a vision for the Nagas to do something great for the society.
Rev.Lee expressed hope that Dream café would produce many more good people and contribute their best for the society in whatever profession they may be.
She also shared how Singapore a small island nation without any natural resources become a strong nation within 20 years due to committed and hard work that become popular in the world now.
She challenged the Naga people to rise up and do something for the nation leaving aside the narrow mindedness as God has great plan for the Nagas. Owner of the café, Theja Meru, in his welcome address, shared how Dream Café had been a source of great blessings to many young Nagas and became successful in their own profession.
He thanked Rev. Lee, the mentor of the café, friends and patronage for their unceasing support through these years.
Earlier, UBC associate pastor Jonathan Messen said the invocation prayer, Naro presented special song and well-wishers of the Dream café were acknowledged.
The programme was entertained by different local artistes till 6 p.m. The programme was attended by members of Dream café, well-wishers, friends, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu and others.
It may be mentioned that the Dream café was inaugurated by Banuo Z. Jamir, then principal secretary to the government of Nagaland on May 5 2003.
The café has conducted or organized various activities in the last 10 years including Arts exhibition, music workshop, charity fund raise, press conferences on various occasions, etc.
