
Two charity cabins at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung were inaugurated Friday by Dr. Yangerla director, health & family welfare department.
The two cabins each attached with a kitchen and a toilet was constructed by Ongpangkong Watsu in commemoration of Ongpangkong Watsu Mungdang silver Jubilee.
During a brief inaugural programme, Dr. Yangerla lauded the Ongpangkong Watsu for their initiative and contribution towards the welfare of the people. She pointed out that the noble initiative of Ongpangkong Watsu would serve as a good example for others to emulate in the field of humanitarian works. Appreciating the public contributions towards IMDH, the H&FW Director pointed out that Mokokchung district hospital, even before the concept of communitization, had received a lot of contributions from different individuals and groups. In this regard, she called upon all citizens to keep the spirit alive and join hands together for the growth and development of the hospital.
Aolepden, the building Committee member, said that it was a dream come true for Ongpangkong Watsu especially with successful completion of charity cabins. He thanked all committee members for their tireless effort.
Medical superintendent of IMDH, Dr. Bendangla said the hospital cannot survive without public support and that Mokokchung could be a suitable place for establishing a medical college and challenged the people to work hard to achieve the dream for the future of the coming generation.
Meanwhile, the programme was chaired by Watsu. Rongsenlemla and dedication prayer was said by Temsuwati Asso. Pastor MTBA. CMO, deputy MS, deputy CMO, medical officers, Ongpangkong Watsu and well-wishers attended the programme.
