In a press release, NTSA president Tokatoli Sohe and general secretary M.Yanrenthung Yanthan said this was resolved at an emergency meeting held on October 13. As per the national executive meeting (September 26), AICCTA had called for one day mass casual leave, Pan India, on October 17 against GST council’s decision to keep the administration of service tax assesses exclusively with the central authorities and irrational distribution of power and functions between Central and state GST officers.
Two representatives from NTSA would be taking part at the protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.
NTSA appealed to the state representative to the GST council meetings to project and impress upon the GST council the legitimate demand of state’s commercial tax official in the interest of the state’s fiscal autonomy with the advent of the GST regime.
