Reacting to news report which was published in some section of the local dailies, former INC candidate Kevise Sogotsu has clarified that he still hold the Congress Party in high esteem and have no grudge whatsoever against the party or any of the state Congress leaders. Kevise said he had sacrificed and gave his best to the INC when as a Congress man and former candidate of the party. Kevise said he had decided not to take the risk a second time by seeking Congress ticket in the bye-election but to fully extend support to a candidate who could fulfill the aspirations of the constituency people.
Stating that he had resorted to a lot of unsavoury and unpalatable words personally directed against Neiphiu Rio in the past elections, Kevise said not even once did Rio reacted or responded to all his allegations. He said it has humbled him and came to realize the true leadership quality of Rio. With the dawning of a new political understanding, Kevise said he has decided to extend full support to Rio’s anointed NPF candidate, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsü, in the forthcoming by-election. Joining him in the endeavour to strengthen the hands of Rio in the by-election are Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) vice president, Ruokuo Sogotsu, KDCC secretary, Neihulie Sanchu, Kohima district youth wing vice president, Thekrupa Angami, and a host of leaders from village units.
