
An awareness programme on financial literacy was conducted on August 20, at government industrial training institute, Tuensang.
Resource person of the programme, SBI Tuensang chief manager Prem Narayan Nath, elaborated the basic of banking system in India- different types of deposit, insurance policy and the importance of banking system.
He said that to develop and prosper Nagaland, and Tuensang district in particular, every individual should make banking a basic need in our day to day life yet be aware of not becoming a victim of fraudsters.
He also encouraged the trainees for self- employment rather than to be dependent on govt. jobs and emphasised on different schemes like PMJDY, PMMY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.
Meanwhile, GITI Tuensang principal Er. Enchiba Longkumer in his welcome address mentioned that the programme has been initiated by the department of employment, skill development & entrepreneurship, Nagaland to enable those who wished to be self-employed and access credit to start their enterprises.
