
Tenyiphe-I Community Building Chümoukedima, which was constructed under VDB funds, was inaugurated on July 8, with BDO Chümoukedi block, K. Yamao Konyak as chief guest and Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) chairman Razouvoto Chatsu as guest of honour.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, chief guest in his speech congratulated the villagers on their achievement and expressed his appreciation for exhibiting unity and judicious utilization of VDB funds.
He said, unlike other departments where benefits of projects and schemes go to a few selected beneficiaries, department of rural development with its various developmental schemes and programs have been reaching to the grass roots level through village council and VDBs.
Konyak also disclosed that RD department was a department with the most centrally sponsored schemes within its ambit, thereby he challenged the villagers to get maximum benefit from such schemes by working together with transparency and unity.
Exhorting the gathering CVC, chairman Razouvoto Chatsu as guest of honour expressed his happiness at the achievement of the Tenyiphe-I village in completing the community building which is first of its kind among the Chakhroma Angami Villages with the little assistance received from the government by way of grant in aid.
Stating that Chümoukedima was developing at a very fast pace being declared the district head quarter, he said the building has added another beauty to the town.
He further encouraged Tenyiphe Villagers to uphold the values of unity, trust, transparency, honesty etc. which are the essence for a peaceful and developing society.
Earlier the programme was chaired by VCC, Helie Kruse, invocation prayer was pronounced by Tenyiphe-I Baptist Church, pastor, Razouvolie Vimero, Pastor, welcome address was delivered by VDB secretary K.
