Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) has alleged the state government of practicing backdoor appointment in all the departments for the past many years.
In a press release EUUN president, Achilo Thong stated that refusing to place requisition of vacancies to the NPSC or not referring vacancies to the Employment Department was “sheer violation of law” and alleged that thousands of vacancies have been filled up through backdoor without scrutinizing the educational documents.
Stating that many incompetent persons got the highest paid white collard jobs while many genuine and the most deserving remained unemployed, EUUN added that the right to equality of opportunity in matter of public employment envisaged in the Constitution of India bore no honor in Nagaland.
“This amounts to violation of the ‘right to life’ with ‘basic necessities’ and ‘human dignity’ and is a crime against humanity”, added EUUN. EUUN also questioned the government asking as to why it was not willing to stop the practice of backdoor appointment and suggested that if all the Naga tribes and children are considered as brothers and sisters and treated equally, then there was no problem to legislate ban on backdoor appointment so as to provide equality of opportunity to all.
EUUN also urged for a permanent solution to end backdoor appointment and said that it was not interested in temporary solution that lasts for a few months only and asked the government to immediately revoke and stop any kind of backdoor appointment
Failing which, EUUN said it would be compelled to take its own course of action in the interest of the next generation for which it should not be held responsible.
