
Much awaited health sub-centre at Zukihe village, under Nuiland sub-division was inaugurated by National Health Mission Nagaland mission director Dr. Sukhato A. Sema as chief guest on June 20.
At the inaugural function, the chief guest, in his speech, informed that the government was providing various schemes and facilities but many people ignored and completely depend on the government.
He called upon the villagers to change their mindset and maintain the sub-centre as their own property as it was setup keeping in view the remoteness and the problem of transportation, stated a DIPR report.
Dr. Sukhato said the sub-centre would go a long way in serving the needs of the people and the surrounding areas, especially during the case of emergency. He also urged the staffs to be regular and work with dedication and assured department’s support.
Further, the chief guest also appealed to the villagers to have regular medical checkups, especially pregnant mothers, and also to focus on child malnutrition. He said that regular checkups were necessary to prevent communicable disease, proper vaccination, blood pressure and sugar level etc and promote positive healthcare system. NHM additional director Dr. John also delivered a short speech.
The department also brought some necessary equipments and medicine for the newly constructed sub-centre. The village council chairman thanked the department for setting up the sub-centre and assured the authorities to work as per the direction of the department as well as the needs of the people.
The chief guest was accompanied by NHM additional director Dr. John, CMO, deputy CMO Dimapur, deputy director Kriezetou, Dr. Lanu, Dr. Kavito, Dr. Toshimenla, Dr. Tail, Dr. Avika and GB Asukiqa village Hetoi. The programme was chaired by BPM Vinitoli, invocation prayer was offered by Rev. Kikhevi pastor Zukihe, welcome address was delivered by VHC chairman Hozukhe Chishi, folk song was presented by Zukihe villagers, vote of thanks by Dr. Kavito Zhimomi MO I/C of the sub-centre and benediction prayer by associate pastor Akaholi ZBC. The sub-centre was first set up in 2006 and was functioning from the residence of GB.
