Amahator Range Students Union (ARSU) official’s undertook a tour within its jurisdiction from August 24 to 26. During the tour, ARSU detected random transferring of teachers without reliever, and shortage of teachers.
The union stated that GPS Hurong has only two teachers to run the school with an enrollment of 67 students, no Hindi teacher at GPS Changchor, GMS Changchor without a science teacher and GPS Amahator town with only a single teacher. ARSU also detected many teachers attached to different offices and with one or no teachers in schools.
In the health sector, ARSU found that PHC at Amahator Town has been running without pharmacists/compounder, no doctor with only a single nurse and a Dhai with insufficient beds. Although Amahator town is EAC headquarter, no EAC is posted permanently, stated ARSU and appealed the authority to provide necessary facilities in the area.
