State Governor, PB Acharya, informed that 15 doctors and 9 teachers form Mumbai would be coming to state on May 5 for guest fellowship exchange programme under the aegis of NGO group National Fellowship Centre initiated by him in the year 1972.
Governor said well known medical doctors would be conducting free medical camp for the people of the Mon district. He also said the visiting teachers would be taking class on the subjects of mathematics, science, Hindi and English. He said visiting team would be travelling by road to Mon town through Tizit and would come to Kohima tentatively May 13 or 14 where there would be felicitation programme at Raj Bhavan for them.
The teachers would take class in the government schools only.
DC Mon holds coordination meet
In view of the proposed visit of the State Governor and his team of doctors and teachers to Mon district, a coordination meeting of the district administration along with doctors and teachers was held on April 27 in the DC’s conference hall, Mon.
Briefing the members, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mon, W. Honje Konyak has sought full cooperation and support from the HODs and NGOs of the district. Mentioning that a medical camps would be conducted at Tizit on May 9 as well as at the District Hospital, Mon, Honji appealed to all members to sensitize the people to avail the opportunity. He said the final scheduled with detail information would be publicized for public.
DC also informed that final coordination meeting comprising of the district administration, security force, HODs and NGOs of the district would be held on May 1 in the DC’s conference hall.
During the meeting, the house also discussed on the accommodation, transportation, sanitation, cleanliness, civic reception, felicitation program, security coordination meeting, roads, water supplies, internet connectivity and electricity, etc.
