Pfütseromi Youth Society (PYS) has celebrated a four-day long Tsükhenyie festival from April 24 which coincided with its 66th annual session with Issac Kronu, First Class Contractor, as the chief guest.
In the annual session, folk tunes and traditional tug of war were a part of the entertainment which concluded with annual feasting of Pfütseromi Youth Society.
On April 25, a mass fishing day was observed and on April 26 khel wise Tsükhenyie feasting was celebrated.
On April 27, Tsükhenyie wrestling day was conducted where Wepekhro Mero, PA to Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Co-ordination, Evaluation and Monitoring Cell, graced the accession as the chief guest. In the Tsükhenyie wrestling, male volunteers from the village were invited to participate, where around 45 wrestlers in three different category A, B and C.
In the Category A, Kewe Mero, son of Mesewete Mero was declared winner, while the second, third and fourth places were won by Neitshowe, son of Kewepupe; Tshote Kapfo, son of Wepe Kapfo; and Kudie Ritse, son of Wenyitso Ritse respectively.
In Category B, Wezolo Kapfo was declared winner, while Terhotsho Mero, Meyepe Ritse, Kewepfülo Ngacu were declared winners in the second, third and fourth respectively.
In Category C, Zhowe Kapfo was declared winner, while Lhichete Kapfo, Erikulo Mero and Khrokulo Ritse were declared winners in the second, third and fourth places respectively.
The winner of each category were given cash prizes.
