Nagaland University School Management Committee for the first time organized ‘Children’s Summer Camp’ from August 9 to 11 at Nagaland University, headquarters Lumami.
Participants were school-going children of the university employees, studying in various schools in Mokokchung and Lumami. The three-day camp included basic training in martial arts, trekking, music, movie shows, photography, and recreational activities.
Around 50 participants were divided into three age-groups. The children participated in various extra-curricular activities, designed to inculcate in them the importance of interpersonal skills, communication ability, hygiene, physical activity, self-defence, music and dancing.
The organizers said camp’s success was due to the dynamic leadership of the vice-chancellor Prof. B.K. Konwar, as well as the support extended by various stakeholders of the University such as sports section, health centre, transport section, student volunteers, officers, staff, and parents.
Nagaland University School Management Committee members include Dr. Upasana Bora Sinha, Dr. Baljit Singh, Dr. Wangshimenla, Monalisa Tase, Yanrenthung Ezung, and Peter Ki.
