People desire honourable political settlement: NPGs

Having observed the political development “within and beyond artificial boundary”, the people of Nagaland desired an honourable political settlement with the government of India, asserted three Naga Political Groups (NPGs) on Saturday. Chairman gen (retd) Khole Konyak and general secretary N. Kitovi Zhimomi of GPRN/NSCN; NNC acting president Z. Royim Yimchungru; NNC general secretary Vizosielhour Nagi; FGN kedallo Zhopra Vero  and kedahege S. Singnya and NNC vice president T.S. Keyho in a joint statement said the three NPGs, in pursuance of the common political vision, resolved despite “differed ideology and administrative positions. They reaffirmed that they were bound by common history.  “Our differences should not compromise our political right and therefore, upholding the spirit of Naga national unity, we are determined to understand each other because the interest of future Naga generation must be safeguarded at all cost”, thy said.
The NPGs pledged that they would work together closely and facilitate each other in finding acceptable political settlement with the government of India and commit themselves this task as desired by “our people.” The joint statement was made on Saturday at the Council headquarters of GPRN/NSCN. The PNGs have urged the people to continue extending support and cooperation.
