AYO appeals for peace during Hornbill Festival

Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) appealed citizens of Kohima not to breach the peaceful atmosphere in the state capital during the festive season particularly Hornbill festival.
In a press release, AYO president Medo Yhokha and vice president Kekhrievolie Keyho said Hornbill festival would “draw and witness” the participation of a hosts of VVIPs including the Prime Minister of India, dignitaries, national and international visitors/tourists. AYO said it would be compelled to initiate disciplinary actions against those disturbing public security/safety/conveniences and against the people initiating public disorder and violence.  Reiterating its resolution against factional violence, killings, shootout at public areas in Angami jurisdiction, AYO urged kohima based Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to maintain discipline and order “within their cadres.”
AYO said it would not tolerate “violent actions” in public places from NPGs and urged cadres to totally desist from all forms of offensive actions that would create bad impressions of Naga society. On the initiative and effort of Kohima Police to control drunken driving during the festive season, AYO extended its cooperation and assured that the organization would also be equally vigilant to control public disorder.
