Eastern Nagaland selected GT/PT continue stir

Eastern Nagaland selected graduate and primary teachers (GT/PT) association (ENSGT/PTA) entered third day of indefinite agitation by closing DEOs & SDEOs offices in four districts against the delay of appointment letters. The agitation in Mon, Longleng and Kiphire district went peacefully. ENSGT/PTA in Kiphire continued its stir for the third day on Saturday.
More than 100 selected teachers gathered near DEO and SDEO office to show their resentment over non issue of appointment order.
Talking to this correspondent A. Lipise Sangtam representative of Kiphire said, “government is keeping silent and after agitation only they are apprising the advocate for settlement and so this is not fair,” and added that they will continue locking of office of DEO and SDEO till their appointment orders were being issue by the government. Lipise however asked those absentees during the ongoing agitation to be present by the next day as stern action would be taken by the association.
Earlier, some members of selected PT/GT led by the co-convener also met DC Kiphire to share their grievances and asked for their cooperation during their indefinite agitation.
TUENSANG: In Tuensang GT/PT observed “Black Day” by peacefully marching around the town with black flag and black ribbon as a symbol of expressing anger and dismay.  A press release issued by one of the conveners of ENSGT/PTA Changsang stated that effigies of state chief minister Neiphiu Rio and school education minister Nyiewang were burned in the heart of Tuensang town. The association cautioned state government that it would stage second phase of agitation from October 25 by picketing all government   educational institutions (Colleges and Schools) if government failed to address its grievance. 
Peren, Phek to resume picketing DEO office
PEREN: Selected graduate and primary teachers (PT/GT) of Phek has called for resuming the ongoing district wise indefinite agitation from October 22 onwards over non-issuance of appointment orders. Selected teachers have been informed to report at 8 in front of SDEO office. Convenor also reminded that “strict action” would be imposed on the absentees as resolved in its representative meeting.

PHEK: Selected graduate and primary teachers (PT/GT) of Phek district informed that they have been picketing the office of DEO, Phek since October 18 and would continue till the government issued appointment orders. The selected teachers in a press release received through mail questioned as to why student bodies were tight-lipped on the issue and if the authority were willing to shoulder any eventualities arising from any “ensuing fallout” from the issue.
CSUTT, YSU, KTSU support ENSGT/PTA
Chang Students Union Tuensang Town (CSUTT), Kiphire Town Students’ Union (KTSU) the apex student’s organization in Kiphire town and Yimchungru students union (YSU) Saksi Tuensang have extended support to the indefinite agitation called by ENSGT/PTA demanding their appointment order by teacher candidates selected through interview and denied appointments, starting from October 18.
