DC & DEO Phek Nikashe has issued a notification for prevention and misuse of vehicles during the period of electioneering.
The notification stated that private vehicles can be used by the contesting candidates or agents only after registration of vehicles with the district election officer or any other officer specially authorized by DEO furnishing the details of registration number and type of vehicles in the area to be covered for such campaign.
An official bulletin stated that all details of such registered vehicles for campaign shall be handed over to the expenditure observer and any vehicle that has been found campaigning without such registration with DEO shall be deemed to be un-authorized campaigning by the candidate and this may attract penal provisions under IPC and therefore be taken out of the campaigning.
District administration and police would launch special drive for checking vehicles immediately.
Cars/Vehicles being used for electioneering purposes shall under no circumstances be allowed to move in convoys of more than 3 vehicles from the date of this notification till the completion of election process in any constituency.
Meanwhile, DC & DEO Phek has issued an order re-constituting the media certification & monitoring committee (MCMC) with immediate effect with following members-
DC & RO, Phek Anoop Khinchi, IAS- Chairman, ADC & ARO, Phek I. Sanen Jamir- member, EAC Phek Thejakhrieno Nisa- member, EAC, Phek Longdiba- member, DPRO, Phek Siewatho- member secretary.
DC & DEO Phek has also constituted accounting team to monitor correct expenditure account by the contesting candidates under Phek district with immediate effect.
