All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), Wokha district has expressed dismay with NSCN (K) for not listening to the “voce and cry of people” against rampant collection of tax. This has become a daily practice of the Naga Political Groups (NPGS), alleged ACVA. In a press release, ACVA president Y. Bankathung Lotha and general secretary Renbeni Ngullie said their association had a meeting on Sunday last to discuss demand note served by NSCN (K) Lotha region to All Nagaland Auto Union, Wokha Unit by the group’s leacy David Lotha and kilonser trade and commerce revenue Starson.
ACVA said after the meeting the association felt that the rampant collection of tax by NPGs would do more harm to the common people and business establishments and also make the commercial vehicle owners bankrupt. Collection of tax would only worsen and alienate NPGs/factions from the people. If the NPGs/factions were looking for Naga political solution, the respect and security of the people should their concern, said ACVA.
ACVA also said that the threat to ban Wokha commercial vehicles was a direct challenge to the public of Wokha district in particular and the Nagas in general. The association said it was not against any NPG or faction, however asserted that the policy of collection of tax could not be allowed to jeopardize the basic rights of the common people of Nagaland.
ACVA Wokha district also requested the authority to correct the word “donating” to “collecting” in the FIR, 3rd paragraph file on the May 20 incident at Doyang DHEP area. The association has also reiterated its support to “one government, one tax” decision of ACAUT, Nagaland for the larger interest of the society.
