District excise personnel manning Chumukedima check gate Wednesday seized 20 cases of MC Rum from two persons, identified as Kiyekhe Sumi and Zhekiho Sumi, both hailing from Zunheboto district.
The accused were apprehended by a team led by AIE Jungti Jamir.
According to superintendent of excise, Dimapur, K.Y. Sangtam, the accused were held along with the vehicle bearing registered number W.B-30- 3535 when they were on their way to Zunheboto.
K.Y. Sangtam said the department was trying to curb the free inflow of drugs and contraband items.
It may be mention that the excise department is entrusted as nodal department for liquor monitoring cell for the forthcoming LS election.
