Zapami village under Phek district observed village sanitation March 15 commemorating the receiving of Nirmal Gram Puraskar 2009, a national award under total sanitation campaign, ministry of RD department of drinking water supply, for achieving full sanitation coverage status first in Phek district. Around 800 persons participated in the mass social work for cleaning and water sanitation.
The main objective of the annual ‘village sanitation day’ was to inculcate civic sense for health, dignity and development through sanitation. WATSAN committee also displayed sign boards like ‘keep you village clean”, “keep your colony clean”, “use dustbin” and the like.
The committee has lauded executive director WSSO, department of PHE for providing materials and also congratulated Tese colony for being the cleanest colony among five colonies. They were awarded with attractive prizes.
