RSU 37th general conference underway

Rengma Students Union (RSU) 37th general conference inaugural function was graced Wednesday by parliamentary secretary for flood control & irrigation Y. Vikheho Swu as the chief guest and Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) deputy speaker Er. Levi Rengma as chief patron. The conference is being held under the theme “Envisioning Challenges.”
Speaking on the occasion, Vikheho Swu talked about the emotional relationship between Pughoboto and Tseminyu sub- division and called upon the people of both communities to continue to maintain good relationship.
Stressing on the need to improve the Rengma’s economy, the parliamentary secretary urged upon the people to take up entrepreneurship and self employment activities as the area lies on potential area of National Highway.
Er. Levi in his speech said that Rengma are second to none though less in number and challenged the students to be sincere in study and compete with other Naga tribes in competitive exam.
He also stressed on the need to focus on the area of self-reliance and at the same time asked the students to take care of their health, saying that one cannot contribute to the society sans healthy atmosphere.
Naga Students Federation (NSF) speaker RS Jollyson also spoke on the occasion and called upon the Nagas to be united and maintain the spirit of oneness.
Altogether, 1000 delegates from eight constituents unit and two subordinates unit are taking part in the three daylong general conference. Earlier, dedicatory prayer for the conference monolith was pronounced by executive secretary CRBC Reverend Tenga Seb while RSU president Caleb Magh delivered presidential address and welcome address was delivered by Daniel Tep.
The programme was chaired by Hyunilo (Anilo) Khing.
 In the interactive session, additional director school education Pollem Tep spoke on the topic education in Rengma areas. Later, the delegates took a walk to Mt. Terogvu.
Director health service, department of health & family welfare Dr. G. Kemp will be the valedictory guest on December 19.
