First phase civil rights awareness campaign led by NVCO president and advocate Kezhokhoto Savi concluded September 17 at Tetseo College, Dimapur.
As part of the tour campaign against illegal taxation NVCO conducted civil rights awareness programme at Tetseo College with resources persons Kezhokhoto Savi, Jevikali Wotsa, Khriebu-u Yhor, Neite-o Koza, Khirevono Seletsu, Neitsho Wezah, Thungchio Yanthan, K. Topha Konyak, Daniel Semy, Ajano R. Ngulie and Sheli covering topics such as intellectual property, legal services authority – free legal aid to the poor, human rights, mediation & conciliation, medical negligence, illegal taxation, Nagaland state consumer helpline with Toll Free No. 1800-345-3701, child & women rights, right to food, democracy – free & fair election, consumer rights and domestic violence.
The programme was attended by hundreds of undergraduate students along with their lecturers. NVCO team also attended the meet convened by ACAUT on September 17 at Dimapur at Unity Hall, Naga Council Dimapur.
The team has extended its gratitude to ACAUT, Naga Council Dimapur and all other civil societies Dimapur district based for extending invitation to the team.The team would also visit churches as part of their their campaign against illegal taxation in the state.
