Kiphire Town Council and Swatchh Bharat Mission Kiphire organized sensitization programme on Swachh Survekshan 2019 at DC conference hall, Kiphire on Monday.
Mr. Kohima 2018 Atsungba Sangtam attended the programme as special guest.
In his speech, Atsungba spoke on proper utilization of funds provided by the government.
Reminding the gathering that cleanliness was basic things needed, he said it was everyone responsibility to contribute starting from their own kitchen.
Swachh Bharat Mission Kiphire, secretary, Tsipise Antony while delivering key note address highlighted on the programme of Swachh Survekshan 2019.
He said that Swachh Survekshan 2019 is a ranking exercise taken up by the Government of India to assess rural and urban areas for the levels of cleanliness and active implementation of Swachhata Mission initiatives in timely and innovative manner.
Antony also spoke about the municipal documentation such as solid waste management including door-to-door collection, processing and disposal and open defecation free status, citizen feedbacks and on independent observation during the Swachh Survekshan(Surveying) 2019.
Member of Swachh Bharat Mission Kiphire, K.Rothrongki Sangtam who too spoke on the Swatchh Survekshan 2019 said that the programme is organized for sensitization of the wards for cleanest survey.
He said during the survey, citizen feedback, interaction of swachhata in different categories will be considered.
All eleven wards under Kiphire Town took part in the sensitization programme.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by associate pastor of KTBL (South Zone),T.Setsiba Sangtam while member SBM Kiphire, Lilongla Sangtam delivered vote of thanks.
It may be mentioned that under the initiatives of Kiphire Town Council, cleanliness drive in all the wards were also carried out on December 15.
